News and Events
Although school 'fees' are a voluntary donation they do make up a substantial portion of our school income and are relied upon to provide learning resources for our children. We therefore appreciate your payment of fees. For 2010 there has been a change to our school fees, which are now made up as follows:- The formula is $35 per term for the 1st child, $25 per term for the 2nd child, $10 per term for subsequent children. If you pay for the whole year by the 31st March there is a 15% discount. Government funding only supports the basic operating costs for the school. Your donations are very important to us. They go towards improving resources we can use to support learning programmes for your child. Mosston offers your children participation in many team sports throughout the year. Each sporting organisation sets the fees for our school which the school passes on to the players concerned (eg Central Football sets fees for teams for Wanganui soccer/football teams-Mosston passes on this cost on a per head basis to families). We operate on a no pay/no play basis. Uniforms are supplied by the school and must be returned to the school at the end of each term. Parents please note: The fees are set based on the numbers of children who sign up for the teams. Should you or your child later decide to opt out of their team the fee is still expected to be paid. On this basis, please be sure your child genuinely does want to participate and understands they are required to turn up every week-sometimes in bad weather. We encourage commitment to the team. Arrangements can be made to pay off the sport fee where necessary. Any questions about sports at Mosston may be directed to Aimee Fallen who is our sports co-ordinator. Aimee is only at school on Fridays and her email address is afallen@mosston.school.nz. Every second Monday the children are given our Mosston Messenger to bring home to keep our community updated on the school wide focus areas and upcoming events.
