About us

Mosston School is a state school, with a decile 4 rating (mid-range socio-economic families), situated on the North Western boundary of Wanganui adjacent to the suburb of Springvale. We are a friendly family school in a semi-rural setting. The country atmosphere of our school is maintained by regular inter-school fixtures held with nearby country schools. Mosston School delivers quality education to year 0-6 students. The school roll ranges to a maximum of 160 children with our optimal number being 155.

Mosston School operates an enrolment scheme and enrolments are accepted from in-zone students (with proof of address). Children from out of zone families may be accepted if there are any spaces and this is done through a ballot process.

We operate 7 classrooms, which are often composite classes covering 2 year groups. We have excellent facilities and access to more in the immediate vicinity of the school. A wide range of sporting and cultural activities are available to children because of our close proximity to the main centre. We join with a cluster of 6 other primary schools in our area for many mutually beneficial activities such as sports and leadership training.
